Accommodation
Homestay
For language students, homestay is perhaps the most popular accommodation. Homestay give students the better opportunity to live and spend time with local people. You can have either a single room or a shared room (depending on what type of room is available and what kind of room the school offers).
Homestay accommodation provides an ideal opportunity to practise English outside class as well as a chance to learn about local life. The rent of homestay usually includes bills and catering, either half- or full-board. In general, half-board accommodation offer bed, 2 meals on weekday, 2/3 meal on weekend.
Residential Accommodation
Residential accommodation: This kind of accommodation is perhaps most convenient for university students. Normally, you have to share a kitchen with other flatmates (approximately 4-8 students per 1 kitchen). This is an excellent opportunity for students to get to know others from various countries - to understand people from different cultures and ways of thinking outside the classes.
Private Accommodation
Private Landlord: After getting used to the city, some students decide to rent private flats. Many times, it is cheaper than universities’ accommodations, and you can have a chance to choose your flatmates. There are many websites to find out about this kind of accommodation - i.e.
www.citylets.co.uk or edinburgh.gumtree.com .
