Dundee is an established university with a progressive and dynamic outlook. The university is ranked 3rd in the UK for social work, 7th for architecture and 8th for biological science (Times University Guide 2007). The university not only has an excellent reputation in bioscience and medicine but is also one of the top three art schools in the UK. It was the first UNESCO center in the UK involved in research regarding the management of the world’s water resources on behalf of the United Nations.
Dundee has an enviable record on employment. Their graduates have one of the highest starting salaries in the UK according to the league table. In the 2004-Sunday Time University Guide, the University of Dundee was voted as “Scottish university of the year”.
The university has always been ranked at “international excellence for their research” and this is why Dundee has attracted £150 million research income over the past three years, especially in the field of medical and life sciences.
The University of Dundee’s campus is well planned and only five minutes from the city center. According to The Virgin University Guide it is regarded as the friendliest campus in Scotland!
The sporting facilities, especially the indoor ones, are probably some of the most modern and extensive facilities and include two versatile sports halls, squash courts, a physical conditioning suite, a sauna, and a four-lane swimming pool. The University also has its own water sports center located on the Tay estuary.
